- ★ ★ ★ ★ ★I was a UMB member before finding this bank. UMB was not good to me so I went looking for something better. I live and work in Shawnee, so I was glad to find Central Bank of the Midwest. Free checking and savings, (with minimal requirements) but more than anything, AWESOME customer service. I wish I could remember the name of the woman who opened my accounts because she was very helpful and honest on top of the fact that when I came in a week and a half later she remembered me and called me by name! That type of thing goes a long way. I primarily bank at the Lackman Rd. location so that is the one I'm referring to.
